Andy Cohen: Gay and Here to Stay.

When “Watch What Happens Live” premiered in 2009, it was just a little show on Bravo that aired once or twice a week to promote Bravo’s “Housewives” and “Top Chef” franchises and nothing more. Many in the industry didn’t think much of it. It barely got mentioned in the press or reviews. Then just like “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer” something magical happened; Andy Cohen, with his “clubhouse” set, drunken guest and weird eyes that seem crossed at times did something unmanageable in these days of late night gab shows; he keeps you awake! I don’t want to go beddy bye after watching “Live,” I want to party with Andy and his guest.

Andy Cohen; for you feet lovers-you lil devils.
Unlike the coven of women who park their behinds on “The View” and seem lost at times; AC actually knows pop culture and who everyone is; He may have a sassy Jackee Harry on one week, followed by a confused Jerry Seinfeld the next; all are treated the same as AC can talk to anyone and make it interesting and funny. One of the great things about Bravo and why the network succeeds, it’s very interactive with fans. AC will take questions directly from Facebook andTwitter fans (if their interesting enough) to ask his guest; it makes for great TV as you never know how the question will be answered or mocked.

Some people really hate Andy Cohen. When telling a couple of friends I was writing an article about AC I was greeted with turned up noses; which surprises me but I would be a liar if I didn’t admit to hearing, “I hate that guy!” when AC is mentioned sometimes; maybe they’re just jealous and don’t get his pop culture references. On the other hand there are some people who want to bed him. Personally he's not my type (Sorry but thick grey hair on men makes me think of Bea Arthur; and I don't want to bed Bea Arthur!) I want to be his Andy's BFF, and I suspect besides his “young daddy” looks, a lot of people feel like they are letting a old friend, or more like a cool uncle (who’ll let you sip his beer) into their homes each night.

All those "club house" drinks didn't hurt Andy's bod.
Hopefully now that “Live” is a hit for Bravo it won’t lose its unpredictability; so our AC (who’s also an executive at the network) won’t have to change format to compensate some guest; or please some new “mom jeans” wearing creative head at Bravo.

So be damned I will admit it! Andy Cohen melts my margarine and makes me laugh out loud.

Andy Cohen's last book, "Most Talkative" debuted on The New York Time's top 10 list in it's first week on sale; go Andy!

Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday to Thursday on Bravo @ 11: pm eastern.

I Want It All

I WANT IT all. I’m greedy for love and the next lover who’ll give me butterflies and not indigestion. I’d like a new career; where I make more money and honestly enjoy what I do for a living. I want bars to be like they were back in the day, or like I think they were back in the day.

I want to able to smile at a stranger and when they don’t smile back, get over it and still smile at someone else because it’s a good feeling. I want to believe in government, and not feel like I need a long shower after politician talks on TV.

I want my dog to stay the same age and never get old and have to be put to sleep. I want people that have dogs in New York to be ashamed if they don’t pick up dog crap and not leave it for someone to step into. I’d like friends to agree with me and realize that I know it all. I want friends who have a 50/50 chance of telling someone off; this way when I do it, it’s not so shocking.

I want to eat a box of See’s chocolate a week and not put on any weight. I’d like my gym to make it mandatory for ugly people to keep their clothes on at all times in the locker-room. I want fat people to lose weight and skinny people to stop wearing skinny jeans.

I want rich people to stop getting better tax breaks then the middleclass. I’d like poor people who protest the rich; to at least get a decent hair cut, stop piercing things and throw out all their flannel shirts. I’d like the $99 cents store to only charge $99 cents, and not try to temp me with $2.99 lady bug picture frames.

I want it all. I’ll settle for second best. I’d never be happy with mediocrity.

Why Are Rabbi Child Molesters Never In The News?

Once in a while a Rabbi child molestation case comes out that makes the newspapers and the news programs, but it’s often a tiny story and then you never hear about it again. Other child molestation cases get splashed across the newspapers in full detail. News anchors with fake teeth and smiles almost drool as they tell the lurid child abuse cases, but never when it involves a Rabbi; is there a biased? Hell yes!

Not all of the Jewish community turn their back on their own community. Rabbi Nuchem Rosenberg has been a frequent target among Hasidic Jews in Williamsburg because he runs a call-in show and blog on which he publicizes allegations of sexual abuse against ultra-Orthodox men, including those who have not been convicted of a crime. What did Rosenberg get for speaking out and trying to help children? A cup of bleach thrown in his face, which gave him burns on the eyes and face. The man who threw the bleach wasn’t a thug, but a local Jewish resident named Meilech Schnitzler. Schnitzler got only six months’ probation. Now you know if Schnitzler was black or Hispanic he would have gotten six months in jail.

I’ve been wondering for a while, and there are a couple of reasons why you don’t see these horrible Rabbis who molested these poor kids in newspapers like The New York Times, and it’s because of money. Sorry to over-boil the Matzo balls here but the sad truth is when a child is molested by a Rabbi, most families don’t tell anyone because they will be ostracized by their loving community, and often times large groups of Jewish men will protest outside their homes; try to get the victims family fired from their jobs, and make the victim suffer more in the hands of a gang like mentality.

And let’s be honest when a young minority gets abused, and they have no money; who will fight for them? Nobody. Most of these Rabbis are wealthy, and, or have influence with their community so they get protected. It’s so sad in a place like America in which politicians scream through Botox that, “America is the best country.” Victims are still treated like they are in a third world country.

Shame on you New York Times and other newspapers for not helping tell the stories of all the victims of child abuse. I guess most of you are preoccupied with Kim Kardashin’s wedding to Kanye West, and talking about poor children in other countries; it’s too bad the children that need you now are on your own doorstep.

The Sad Fall of Katherine Heigl.

There are some people who can get away with being a super bitch (hello Madonna) but most people eventually fall. Case in point Katherine Heigl.
For a couple of years Heigl, 35, was riding high thanks to “Grey’s Anatomy.” And numerous movie roles. Soon Heigl started getting a reputation of being such a pain-in-the-loafers that ABC was happy to let her go from her contract. Heigl was happy to go, thinking she would burn the movies up with her talent. Sooner than deli roses die, Heigl’s reputation as a queen without a court was turning people off, and costing her potential parts.
What’s Heigl been acting in lately? She’s the new spokesperson for Vick’s ZzzQuil; how the mighty have fallen. In the ad, a dopey looking Heigl lays in bed and looks like road kill. As of 2014 Heigl has announced that she will come back to TV. If she can keep her attitude in check maybe she will have another TV success; if not I’d say she’ll appear on Dancing With The (unemployed) Stars within the next two or three years.

Sherri Shepherd’s View; Husband Files for Divorce.

Forget about Bab's leaving The View. The REAL Gossip going on at The View is:
Sherri Shepherds shocking divorce!

The morning gab fest The View has spent the last couple of weeks patting Barbara Walters, 84, on the ass because she is leaving the show. Hair salon gossips tell me that the real news from The View is that Sherri Shepherd, 47, is getting dumped by her husband, Lamar Sally after 3 years.

Sheppard is an actress, comedian and most infamous for believing that the world isn’t round.
Many behind the scenes of the aging show say Sheperd has been bothering Walters by over talking. My spies tell me that when Sheperd told Walters of her spilt, Walters hit the roof and advised her that this week had to be all about her leaving the show she helped create. Now that the news is leaking out, many wonder if Sheperd will have to spill the jellybeans and ruffle Walters bouffant hair-do by stealing some of the old crows thunder. Stay tuned.
Update: Shepherd's Husband filed for divorce on May 10. Shepherd has said nothing on The View as of yet, but don't count on it as Walters has banned any talk that will steal her departure from the show. After Walters leaves this Friday, prepare for Shepherd to blab and cry for weeks on air. Fake?

Why Is Cable TV So Damn Expensive?

Ever open your monthly cable bill and want to cry? And wonder why in hell are you spending over a hundred dollars a month to watch television?

Some people are making demands to get a law passed where you only pay for the channels you watch, and I think that’s a wonderful idea. Of course the cable companies don’t want that but it will eventually happen; why should I pay for the Hungarian Polka channel when I just care about Bravo TV?
Cable companies spill their champagne and say they can’t afford to do pay-for-channels because the TV networks charge too much; I say the TV companies will get less Grinch-like when they lose business 100%. TV channels make so much off advertising; they can afford to charge the cable companies less; why should the public be getting screwed in every direction without even a dinner first?
Last year in Canada the government said that the country was going to begin requiring cable providers to unbundle the television service they offer, allowing customers to pick and choose which stations they’re willing to pay to watch. Hell to the yeah—where do I sign up?
Would you keep ABC to watch shows like Revenge?
Some American’s have been pushing for a law that would make all cable companies offer pay-for-what-you-want, but so far no laws have been passed as of yet. John McCain Television Consumer Freedom Act of 2013 hasn’t moved since it was introduced in May and many predict it has a 1% chance of getting passed.

Of course the television industry is likely to fight such legislation because they make way-too much money. If the law did go into effect many predict that only 20 stations would survive the fallout and I say GOOD! Do we really need so many channels and so many TV shows? I don’t think so. Also with Netflix and other online sources, many have already decided to kiss their regular cable goodbye.

Toxic Friends

They only call you when they want something; you’ve heard the same story way too many times about their ex boyfriend; you feel they get more out of the friendship than you. Time to drop kick this friend to the curb.

Is friendship on the wane? According to a study in the June 2013 issue of the journal American Sociological Review, Americans are thought to be suffering a loss in the quality and quantity of close friendships since at least 1989. The study states 45% of Americans have no close confidants, and the average total number of confidants per citizen has dropped from four to two; which is surprising since I have 897 “friends” on Facebook.

In this age of updating everyone in your universe about such mundane things as bowel movements; maybe it’s time to bring some mystery back and keep some stuff to yourself. Most single people don’t go out to bars anymore to meet potential partners for dating or sex; they go online, and save their bar hopping for catching up with friends and drinking. Are we really connecting with anyone anymore?

So ask yourself, how many friends do you really have? I’m not talking about co-workers or job contacts. Webster’s definition of a friend is: someone who will tell you the truth; not judge you and shares a common ground with your lifestyle. I’d like to also add a friend is someone who can keep a secret, makes you laugh in the bad times, and not get jealous when you’re doing well.

Some friends you’ll have forever. Some friends should take a leap off the Brooklyn Bridge. I’m the type who likes to have a few close friends instead of dozens of acquaintances. I like people who bring joy to my life and not drama; for me, toxic friends are sent packing faster than a date that can’t get over his ex.
I make a new friend or two every year and sometimes let an old friend go. Some people just become annoying and I don’t want anyone in my life that I hate to hang with.

I think sometimes people come into your life to show you something you couldn’t have seen without them, and when you’ve discovered it, they’re out of your life and vice versa, and that’s OK. As I get older I enjoy catching up with old friends but it never stops me from making new ones and getting rid of bad ones.

Let’s toast to good friendship; may none of us ever be without it.
