Writer and actress Maya Angelou passed away on Wednesday at 86. Raped at 7-years-old in the segregated south she didn’t speak for years and started writing. She always impressed me with her poise, strength and sass. Here in celebration of her talent is some of my favorite quotes from her.

Why Are Rabbi Child Molesters Never In The News?

 Once in a while a Rabbi child molestation case comes out that makes the newspapers and the news programs, but it’s often a tiny story and then you never hear about it again. Other child molestation cases get splashed across the newspapers in full detail. News anchors with fake teeth and smiles almost drool as they tell the lurid child abuse cases, but never when it involves a Rabbi; is there a biased? Hell yes!


Not all of the Jewish community turn their back on their own community. Rabbi Nuchem Rosenberg has been a frequent target among Hasidic Jews in Williamsburg because he runs a call-in show and blog on which he publicizes allegations of sexual abuse against ultra-Orthodox men, including those who have not been convicted of a crime. What did Rosenberg get for speaking out and trying to help children? A cup of bleach thrown in his face, which gave him burns on the eyes and face. The man who threw the bleach wasn’t a thug, but a local Jewish resident named Meilech Schnitzler. Schnitzler got only six months’ probation. Now you know if Schnitzler was black or Hispanic he would have gotten six months in jail.

I’ve been wondering for a while, and there are a couple of reasons why you don’t see these horrible Rabbis who molested these poor kids in newspapers like The New York Times, and it’s because of money. Sorry to over-boil the Matzo balls here but the sad truth is when a child is molested by a Rabbi, most families don’t tell anyone because they will be ostracized by their loving community, and often times large groups of Jewish men will protest outside their homes; try to get the victims family fired from their jobs, and make the victim suffer more in the hands of a gang like mentality.

And let’s be honest when a young minority gets abused, and they have no money; who will fight for them? Nobody. Most of these Rabbis are wealthy, and, or have influence with their community so they get protected. It’s so sad in a place like America in which politicians scream through Botox that, “America is the best country.” Victims are still treated like they are in a third world country.

Shame on you New York Times and other newspapers for not helping tell the stories of all the victims of child abuse. I guess most of you are preoccupied with Kim Kardashin’s wedding to Kanye West, and talking about poor children in other countries; it’s too bad the children that need you now are on your own doorstep.

The Sad Fall of Katherine Heigl.

 

 There are some people who can get away with being a super bitch (hello Madonna) but most people eventually fall. Case in point Katherine Heigl.

For a couple of years Heigl, 35, was riding high thanks to “Grey’s Anatomy.” And numerous movie roles. Soon Heigl started getting a reputation of being such a pain-in-the-loafers that ABC was happy to let her go from her contract. Heigl was happy to go, thinking she would burn the movies up with her talent. Sooner than deli roses die, Heigl’s reputation as a queen without a court was turning people off, and costing her potential parts.

What’s Heigl been acting in lately? She’s the new spokesperson for Vick’s ZzzQuil; how the mighty have fallen. In the ad, a dopey looking Heigl lays in bed and looks like road kill. As of 2014 Heigl has announced that she will come back to TV. If she can keep her attitude in check maybe she will have another TV success; if not I’d say she’ll appear on Dancing With The (unemployed) Stars within the next two or three years.

Sherri Shepherd’s View; Husband Files for Divorce.

The morning gab fest The View has spent the last couple of weeks patting Barbara Walters, 84, on the ass because she is leaving the show. Hair salon gossips tell me that the real news from The View is that Sherri Shepherd, 47, is getting dumped by her husband, Lamar Sally after 3 years.

Sheppard is an actress, comedian and most infamous for believing that the world isn’t round.

Many behind the scenes of the aging show say Sheperd has been bothering Walters by over talking. My spies tell me that when Sheperd told Walters of her spilt, Walters hit the roof and advised her that this week had to be all about her leaving the show she helped create. Now that the news is leaking out, many wonder if Sheperd will have to spill the jellybeans and ruffle Walters bouffant hair-do by stealing some of the old crows thunder. Stay tuned.
Update: Shepherd's Husband filed for divorce on May 10. Shepherd has said nothing on The View as of yet, but don't count on it as Walters has banned any talk that will steal her departure from the show. After Walters leaves this Friday, prepare for Shepherd to blab and cry for weeks on air. Fake?
